About This Programme:

Based: London

This workshop is called ‘Navigating the Ever Changing Online World’ and is delivered by Cathy Wood, founder of Athlete Angel. Social media can be a powerful, engaging tool enabling athletes to raise awareness of their sport, and passions, as well as providing an opportunity to build personal brands. It also has downsides, including; online abuse, the addictive nature of platforms and apps, the use of algorithms to prioritise content and the ease at which players and staff can be found.

It covers a range of key topics about broader online life including; security, digital footprint, being positive online, identity and the rise in Financially Motivated Sexual Exploitation (sometimes referred to as Sexploitation). The content of this workshop may change at short notice to reflect current changes in online practices and any relevant threats. The workshop can be adapted to younger groups and parents and to staff wanting to understand more about the Online Safety Act.

Please note, this deliverer travels from West London, by public transport, to all sessions.  If you are a club which is hard to reach by train – and want a session – please consider this.

This deliver has an enhanced DBS.
